Basic Law and National Education / Academic's time-sheet scheme

On Friday's Backchat, national education. The controversial topic is returning to the headlines with calls for Basic Law study to be added to the curriculum in schools, claims that education since 1997 has failed to foster a sense of Chinese identity, that colonial education amounted to brainwashing, and now a call from the new Chief Executive for all kindergarten pupils to learn 'I am Chinese'. Why is this emerging now, and how have things changed since 2012? Do you agree with the CE that we can let children learn more about Hong Kong’s history, culture, politics and social development, and at the same time make them have their national identity? How do we teach the Basic Law? After 9.20, should academics clock in? (8:30-9:30am, call in on 233 88 266, or email backchat@rthk.hk )
