The Government encourages civil servants to make good use of their spare time to take part in volunteer service. In recognition of civil service volunteer teams and officers who have demonstrated outstanding performance in participating in or promoting volunteer service, the Civil Service Bureau launched the Civil Service Volunteer Commendation Scheme in 2024. This episode features some of the award-winning volunteer teams and individual award recipients under the 2025 Civil Service Volunteer Commendation Scheme, including: Customs and Excise Department Volunteer Team and Hong Kong Disciplined Services Volunteer Corps (Customs Division)—These two volunteer teams from Hong Kong Customs received the Outstanding Volunteer Team Award and the Meritorious Volunteer Service Award. Their volunteer work covers a wide range of services for different groups in the community. In particular, by setting aside their uniforms and providing support services in hospitals, they exemplify the professional spirit of the disciplined services in helping those in need. Architectural Services Department Volunteer Service Team — For more than 20 years, the team has focused on volunteer service for elderly members of the community. At the end of each year, it launches the “Redecoration of Homes of the Elderly” project, providing home repairs and fresh paintwork for elderly persons in need and eligible elderly or two-elderly households, in the hope that they may welcome the new year with brighter homes and lifted spirits.

The Heritage Museum is presenting "Meet Mona Lisa & Portraying the Renaissance" exhibition, blending cutting-edge tech with priceless historical treasures. Using immersive panoramic projections, Da Vinci’s masterpiece becomes a giant moving image wrapping the whole gallery, with six stories unraveling the legend behind it. Infrared and other scan techs reveal Da Vinci’s use of the famous sfumato technique—and even hidden unfinished sketches beneath the surface. It also features treasures borrowed from top French and Italian institutions. Four original Da Vinci manuscripts are on display in Hong Kong for the very first time. The exhihition runs until 27 July. Admission is free.
