- 2025年12月尾，聯合國發表了《世界不平等報告》(Word Inequality Report)。報告由200名研究人員收集和整理資料而成，顯示全球貧富差距擴大，6萬人（即全球人口的0.001%）掌控了全球6%的財富，收入最高的一成人，他們的收入超過了餘下9成人收入的總和。
- 有媒體特別抽出男女不平等這個主題，登了一篇稿，標題話：“The patriarchy runs deep” ，父權制度根深蒂固， “women still getting a raw deal in the workplace as equality remains a dream”，女性仍然在工作場所面對不公平待遇， 平等依然是個夢想。
- 報道內文一開始就引用聯合國婦女署一名主管的話： “Gender inequality is one of the most entrenched （根深蒂固）and significant problems of our time”， 性別不平等仍然是我們這個時代中最根深蒂固和最顯著或最重要的問題之一。
- 在2025年，女性總收入只佔全球人口總收入的28%。更重要的是，這個比例在過去35年沒有大變動。報道形容，這份報告揭示 “equality remains a distant dream（一個遙不可及的夢想）”。
- 文中訪問的一名智庫高級研究員更指出，不少社會仍然將照顧家人視作女性的天職，這種想法令到女性難以在受薪工作中和男性公平競爭 compete on an equal footing，只能為了遷就照顧家人的事務而做兼職，或者從事較低收入的工作。
- 聯合國婦女署的主管總結指，父權思想仍然根深蒂固：“It is embedded in institutions and economic systems”, 它植根於機構和經濟系統；“It spans from the household to government, to international organisations”， 甚至從家庭到政府，到國際組織，都無所不在。
