100 Billion Ways

簡介

GIST

主持人:Cruzanne Macalligan

It’s estimated that around 117 billion people have lived on Earth. That’s 117 billion different ways to be human.

100 Billion Ways, hosted by Cruzanne Macalligan, is a weekly conversation exploring what it really means to live those differences - and what we can learn from them.

The programme brings together thoughtful conversations, personal stories and music, as guests share their lived experiences of identity, culture, disability, faith, neurodiversity, parenting, advocating and belonging. Moving beyond labels and assumptions, the show focuses on how people navigate the world through their own perspectives and experiences. Listeners are invited to reconsider what difference really means, and discover that even in our differences, there is often far more that connects us.

Sundays, 3-4pm on RTHK Radio 3.

Jaclyn Tsang – registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, and Hong Kong powerlifting champion

This week, Cruzanne Macalligan speaks with Jaclyn Tsang – registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, Hong Kong powerlifting champion, and one of the city's leading voices on evidence-based nutrition.

From helping patients recover in hospitals to coaching athletes and everyday people towards healthier lives, Jaclyn believes there is no single blueprint for wellbeing. Together they explore why strength is about so much more than muscles, how nutrition should fit around our lives rather than dictate them, and why caring for our bodies begins with understanding that every person is different.

In this thoughtful and empowering conversation, Jaclyn challenges health myths, redefines what it means to be strong, and reflects on how confidence, perseverance, and everyday movement can transform not only our physical health, but the way we experience life itself.

主持人:Cruzanne Macalligan

This week, Cruzanne Macalligan speaks with Sumichhya "Sumi" Gurung, co-founder and director of the PowerThru Education Programme at EmpowerU. Born in Nepal and raised between Nepal and Hong Kong, Sumi reflects on growing up as part of Hong Kong's Nepali community, navigating questions of identity, belonging, and representation, and the challenges many ethnically diverse young people face in the city's education system. Through PowerThru, Sumi is helping young people discover new possibilities by connecting them with mentors who share similar lived experiences and can show them pathways they may never have imagined. In this thoughtful and uplifting conversation, she talks about the power of representation, the importance of community, the strengths that diversity brings to Hong Kong, and why every young person deserves the chance to see what is possible for their future.
