Iran war updates / Hong Kong Science Museum's new exhibits / More snakes spotted in Tseung Kwan O

On this programme, we looked at the conflict in the Middle East, after US President Donald Trump sent confusing signals hinting that the Iran war could end soon. At the same time, Mr Trump is saying that the US could hit the country “twenty times harder”.

After the break, a curator from the Hong Kong Science Museum told us more about the three new permanent galleries in the museum that focus on how modern technology, such as AI, robotics, and biotechnology, shapes daily life and future innovations.

And to wrap it up, a lawmaker and pest control experts gave us some tips on what to do if you see snakes, after some residents in Tseung Kwan O reported a spike in sightings.

Observatory's summer weather predictions / Return of stranded astronauts

    主持人:Raymond Yeung and John Bruce

On Wednesday's Backchat, we're discussing the effects of climate change on our weather patterns.

The Hong Kong Observatory has announced that we can expect a hotter summer, along with the possibility of up to eight tropical cyclones starting as early as June.
In their predictions released ahead of World Meteorological Day this Sunday, the forecaster also warned of more localised heavy rain, although they do not anticipate an increase in average rainfall. So how well prepared are we in the face changing weather conditions?
In the second part of our show, after the news, we'll dive into the rescue mission involving NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, whose Boeing spacecraft encountered technical issues leaving them stranded for nine months. They were sent back in a SpaceX capsule.

Have private firms such as SpaceX outperformed NASA in both research and capabilities? And can Boeing recover from this failure?

    9:05am-9:30am: Observatory's summer weather predictions

9:05am-9:30am: Prof Leung Wing Mo, Spokesman of the Meteorological Society and former Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory

9:05am-9:30am: Martin Williams, Founder of HK Outdoors

    9:30am-10:00am:  Return of stranded astronauts

9:30am-10:00am: Sara Webb, Astrophysicist and Mission Director of the Swinburne Youth Space Innovation Challenge

9:45am-10:00am: Quentin Parker, Director of the Laboratory for Space Research, The University of Hong Kong
