Fuel prices surge / "Asian flush" study / Digital gap for the elderly / HK Express moving to Terminal 2

On this programme, we talked to a representative from the transport industry about fuel surcharges. Escalation in the Middle East conflict has propelled global crude oil prices to heights not seen in years. Will airlines and public transportation in Hong Kong be able to weather the storm, or will measures be needed to moderate prices?
We then learned more from a City University professor about the so-called "Asian glow", and how his team's new study may provide a possible explanation behind the condition that affects about 40 percent of the population in East Asia.
Following the break, we talked about the digital divide between the older and younger generation, after a recent survey on the SAR's digital literacy was conducted.
And we wrapped up the show with a conversation talking to the COO of HK Express about the upgrades at Hong Kong International Airport's Terminal 2.

    US tariffs / Diving safety

    Presenters:Azam Khan and Mike Rowse

US President Donald Trump earlier rolled out sweeping tariffs targeting most countries, including some of America’s closest allies. Analysts have called this move the most protectionist action taken by a US government in a century.

Despite growing criticism at home and abroad, President Trump is defending his position, arguing that the policies of other countries have been "unjust" to the United States.
Tariffs are hitting as high as 34 percent on goods from China, 24 percent on products from Japan, and 20 percent on the European Union. This dramatic yet expected shift has sent shockwaves through global markets and sparked fierce criticism from the affected nations.
Beijing is already retaliating with 34 percent additional tariffs on US imports. In a statement published by the Xinhua News Agency, the central government urged the US to stop using tariffs as a "weapon to suppress China’s economy and trade", adding that Washington was undermining the rules-based multilateral trading system.
Meanwhile, here in Hong Kong — which is recognised as a separate customs territory from the mainland — Financial Secretary Paul Chan said that there will be no countermeasures implemented for now. He also reassured investors that the SAR remains committed to keeping the flow of capital free, despite US pressure.

In the latter part of the show, we spoke to a veteran diver, after a Hong Kong woman died in the Philippines during a highly demanding technical dive.
