CE John Lee's Middle East visit / China's renewable energy development / AFTEC creativity project

    主持人:Azam Khan and John Bruce

On Tuesday’s Backchat, we looked back at Chief Executive John Lee’s trip to Qatar and Kuwait.

The SAR leader led a business delegation to the two Middle Eastern countries earlier this month. He described the visit as a successful and fruitful one.
A total of 59 Memoranda of Understanding and agreements were signed, including 35 in Qatar and 24 in Kuwait, spanning areas like finance, innovation and technology, commerce and legal support.
We talked to stakeholders and members of the delegation to find out what opportunities lie ahead for the SAR.
After the news, we took a closer look at China’s renewable energy development, after a think tank recently found that the country's carbon emissions fell in the first quarter of 2025 despite rising power demands.
And in the final part of the show, we were joined by a representative of the AFTEC Jockey Club Creative Futures Project for a preview of its Knowledge Exchange Festival that will take place from Friday to Sunday. The event is aimed at encouraging creativity and new ideas.
