New ride-hailing platform / Enhanced AI-powered publishing tool / Fitting rooms for the disabled / HKUST's AI medical imaging tool

On Friday's Backchat, we looked at the recent unveiling of a new regulatory framework for the ride-hailing industry, including requiring licences for ride-hailing operators.

Chief Executive John Lee earlier said that the city should no longer delay in addressing the issue despite its complexity.

We spoke to an expert and got his take on the proposal.
We then turned our attention to how artificial intelligence is transforming the ways books are published - a trend that Hong Kong is helping to set.

After the break, we listened to how one organisation is trying to make fitting rooms in Hong Kong more accessible for people with disabilities.

And finally, we spoke to an expert from the University of Science and Technology about a new medical imaging tool that can reduce patients' exposure to radiation.

Basic Housing Units / Labubu craze / Microplastics awareness survey / Month of Portugal

    主持人:Azam Khan and Ada Wong

On Tuesday's programme, we talked about the government’s drive to improve living conditions for people who live in subdivided flats. New regulations to be brought in will mandate basic requirements for shoebox flats – including on size, height, and things like requiring windows and toilets in each unit. The first step is for landlords whose flats don’t currently fulfil these new requirements to start registering with authorities next year, before making the needed renovations. We talked to a lawmaker to see how things are going.

We also looked into the Labubu craze that has taken the world by storm.

We then spoke to experts about the dangers of microplastics before finding out all about the “Month of Portugal” in Macau.
