    Ride-hailing permit cap / CUHK metabolic health study / Global Prosperity Summit 2026

    On this programme, we first speak with experts and a lawmaker about ride hailing permits. The regulatory regime launches next year, but there's still creases being ironed out, including the number of permits to be issued. Authorities said they're consulting the public too. 
    After the break, we unpack a recent study conducted by researchers at the Chinese University of Hong Kong which found that middle-aged women with overweight or obesity lose more fat by combining flexible time-restricted eating with aerobic exercise.
    And lastly, we learn all about the Global Prosperity Summit that is set to be held in Hong Kong next week.

    Chikungunya cases / AI weather model "Mazu" / "Treasures of the Mughal Court" exhibition / Dukling junk boat's 70th anniversary

    On Monday's Backchat, we talked to experts about the latest regarding chikungunya fever, after Hong Kong recorded a number of imported cases. We found out whether there's now a higher risk of a local outbreak, and if additional measures are needed to prevent people from getting the mosquito-borne disease.

    We also learned about a new AI weather warning system in the mainland called "Mazu", which aims to help developing countries prepare for extreme weather events.
    After the break, we turned our attention to the city's first comprehensive exhibition of Mughal art at the Hong Kong Palace Museum where visitors can see over 100 precious artifacts from the Mughal Empire.
    And finally, we heard from the owner of Hong Kong's iconic red-sail junk boat "Dukling", about events to mark its 70th anniversary.
