Hong Kong Reading Week / 18-District Health Community Project / HKU robotic hip replacement study / Michael Jackson biopic

On this programme, we start with a discussion on the importance of reading.

The government has designated April 23 as the Hong Kong Reading for All Day and will hold Hong Kong Reading Week this week to encourage residents to enjoy reading through diverse activities. A recent survey by the Hong Kong Publishing Professionals Society also showed that reading has declined in SAR and the larger world.

We then talk to a professor from the University of Hong Kong about the official launch of a new city-wide healthcare programme that will strengthen primary health support at the community level, as well as enable residents to gain practical health knowledge.

After the break, we take a closer look at a new study that finds that robotic hip replacements not only lowers re-operation rates compared to conventional surgery, but enables patients to return to normal life more quickly.

And to wrap it up, we chat with a musician on how 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson single-handedly changed the music landscape, as his highly-anticipated biopic "Michael" releases in threatres today in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong's first hydrogen charging station / Master's programmes fee hike

    主持人:Brian Wong and John Bruce

On Wednesday's Backchat, we found out more about the potential to develop hydrogen energy in Hong Kong.
That's after Towngas recently established a partnership with Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks to develop the city's first electric vehicle charging system using purely hydrogen.
The system in Science Park is expected to start operating in the second quarter of next year. We talked to representatives from both Towngas and the Science Park to learn more about the project, and whether hydrogen is indeed a viable energy source in the SAR.

After the break, we switched gears and looked at rising tuition charges for master's programmes at local universities. Fees have increased quite substantially in recent years, raising concerns about affordability for local students.

9:05am-9:30am: Hong Kong's first hydrogen charging station
    Speakers:
Filla Mak, Chief Operations Officer of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks
Don Cheng, Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong Business at Towngas

    9:32am-10:00am: Tuition fee hikes
    Speakers:
Victor Kwok, Deputy Research Director at Our Hong Kong Foundation
