How churches supported those affected by the Tai Po fire / Rehousing options for fire survivors

    Presenters:Azam Khan and Mike Rowse

On Monday's Backchat, we spoke to a church in Hong Kong, that's been offering assistance and care to those affected by the city's deadliest fire in decades.

Since the fire broke out, different sectors of society have joined hands to bolster support for the victims and survivors, including providing them with financial assistance and temporary accommodation.

We found out what this church has been doing, and how it hopes to further expand this act of kindness.

Following that, a charity group, a local think-tank and a property professional discussed the different rehousing options for survivors of the Tai Po inferno.

9:05am-9:30am: How churches supported those affected by the Tai Po fire

    Speakers:

Pastor John Malcolm, Head Pastor at Calvary Full Gospel Church, Hong Kong

Robert Escueta, Pastor, Calvary Church Filipino Ministry

9:32am-10:00am: Rehousing options for fire survivors

    Speakers:

Dicky Chow, Head of Healthcare & Social Innovation and Senior Research Manager of Our Hong Kong Foundation

Hannah Jeong, Head of Valuation and Advisory Services Hong Kong at CBRE
