The Year of the Horse is just around the corner, and it's celebrated by Chinese and other Asian people around the world.
In the US state of California, Lunar New Year has been recognised as a state holiday since 2022.
But the celebrations there date back a lot longer -- in fact, more than 170 years -- representing a rich, multicultural tapestry that honours diverse Asian traditions.
Azam Khan spoke to Christopher Tang, a distinguished professor at UCLA and renowned business academic, to learn more about the new year festivities and what they mean for California.

China is building stronger ties with Kuwait and other Gulf countries amid escalating geopolitical tensions.
Last week, Premier Li Qiang attended the inaugural summit of the Association of Southeast Asian nations, the Gulf Cooperation Council and China, bringing a message of openness and greater cross-regional cooperation. That followed a visit to Qatar and Kuwait by a delegation of mainland and SAR businesses led by Chief Executive John Lee, with the aim of fostering exchanges with the region.
China, in fact, has already been making its presence felt in Kuwait, with some trailblazing Chinese people settling there and doing their part in bringing the two countries closer together.
Raymond Yeung talked to some of them in Kuwait to find out how they've become unofficial ambassadors of China.
