18/01/2025 - Alicja Kwade - Polish-visual artist
"Pretopia", is Polish-visual artist Alicja Kwade’s first solo institutional exhibition in Hong Kong. The artwork reflects on our perception of time, and proposes new perspectives for viewing and understanding reality. The venue for the exhibition, Tai Kwun — which housed the former Victoria Prison — also adds another dimension to the exhibit. CultureZine’s Ingrid Chen visited the exhibition and spoke to Alicia. First, she asked how this collaboration got started and where she got her inspirations from:
18/01/2025 - Rebecca Chuang - Hong Kong Arts Centre / Christy Hui - Facilitator of the "Ivy Says:" art project
CultureZine’s Carol Mang has just explored Tai Kok Tsui and joined a special event there called - “Ivy says: Intergenerational music theatre performance“. It’s organized by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, and aims to use performing arts to enhance connections between the elderly, children and young artists within the community. Carol went to find out more:

Shaggy and fluffy are words often used to describe the colorful monster aliens or mogols created by Japanese artist Takuma Fujisaki.. The mogols are created using pipe cleaners — basically flexible wires covered in colorful fibre … and these monsters that have been gaining popularity around the world are now in Hong Kong.
