Hong Kong Heritage (repeat) – Paul Au & Andrew Guthrie

    主持人:Annemarie Evans

Paul Au came to Hong Kong in 1974 to flee the Vietnam War. The teenager from Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), already captivated by hippie culture and funk music, started collecting vinyl after discovering his favourite records at a Sham Shui Po flea market. Eventually, he opened his own shop in the neighbourhood. American vinyl enthusiast Andrew Gruthrie frequented his shop and later wrote a book about him. In 2016, Annemarie Evans joined Guthrie for a visit to the shop, where they delved into Paul’s early life in Saigon, the Vietnam War, and interestingly, the generation gap between Paul and his parents over his taste in music.
