In 1867, Henry Ernest Wodehouse, father of the celebrated English writer P. G. Wodehouse, came to Hong Kong as a court interpreter, later becoming a magistrate and coroner. In 2017, Hong Kong historian Patricia O’Sullivan joined AnneMarie Evans to share her discoveries on the elder Wodehouse, offering a glimpse into the magistracy of that era. Later in the programme, David Bellis of Gwulo.com takes Evans to the HKU campus to see a rusty water tank, and explains why he sees it as a thing of beauty.
