Dr. William Kelson from The University of Hong Kong will examine the extent to which the crisis was a market-driven housing crash or a government-driven crash, and whether it was a localized financial crisis and/or the opening salvo of a broader deflationary banking panic. He was invited by the University of Hong Kong to give a speech entitled “Land Mania! The Hong Kong Housing Bubble of the 1880s.”
