Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9 and 1.
Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.
On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.
On this week’s Sunday Escape there’s music from a bumper crop of new albums, including new LPs from The National, Chai, Teenage Fanclub, Haley Blais, and Worriers. On the singles front there are tracks from CARRTOONS, Bar Italia, Talk Show and Melin Melyn, plus Paul and Carolyn will be playing music from some of the artists announced this week to play in Hong Kong at December’s Clockenflap festival. The regular features this week include music from The Shortwave Set as part of Sweeping The Nation and a Don Henley cover plus there’s a brand new Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz. All that plus the usual chat and of course some iffy biscuits.
Tune in on Sunday from 9am to 1pm.

This week brought with it some new albums by artists you may not be familiar with as well as some you most certainly will be, which means the Sunday Escape features music from LPs by Drugdealer, Martha, David John Morris, Junior Boys, and Aoife Nessa Frances, along with a new version of Revolver by the Beatles, and a brand new record from Lee Fields. There’s also music from Dig Me In, which is a Sleater-Kinney covers album, plus the best of the week’s singles.
It's almost Halloween, so Paul and Carolyn will make sure there are some spooky elements among all the usual features, which include a new Sweeping The Nation, and Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz. There’s also a debut single selected by a listener for 'Do You Remember The First Time', and Eli Bitan will be visiting the studio with as news of this year’s Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival (which features a Leonard Cohen documentary). Plus biscuits! Tune in from 9am to 1pm this and every Sunday - only on Radio 3
