Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9 and 1.
Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.
On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.
As Paul and Carolyn take a break this week, we've a music-filled Sunday morning. Plus this weekend I've been talking to some of the participants and attendees at this weekend's Clockenflap festival at the Central Harbourfront, including Radio 3 regulars like Mark Rawson, Jarrod Watt (photo), Glen Lloyd, Clockenflap CFO Keith Goodman and local artistes Gwenji and Bad Math, Fred Croft of The Red Stripes, Paul MacLean and NYPD, as well as Rob Deal from The Listening Room, and Steve Hackman.

It’s the first Sunday Escape of December, which means a quieter time for new music as the festive season grows near. But that hasn’t stopped Paul and Carolyn tracking down the finest new music for the show, including records from Circa Waves, Teleman and CVC. There’s also whatever else has been soundtracking the week, a tribute to Christine McVie, who sadly passed away on Wednesday, plus Les and Rob from the Hong Kong Motorcycle Riders will be popping into the studio to tell us about their fun Santa motorcycle ride. All of the usual features return, with music from Heloise and the Savoir Faire, and a debut single from a seminal Welsh band which came out in 1996. There’s also a new Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz and a curious advent calendar/biscuit mash up! Tune in from 9am to 1pm.
