Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9 and 1.
Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.
On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.
Paul and Carolyn return for another Sunday Escape, as they delve once more into the very finest in new and independent music. This week that includes brand new tracks from The Linda Lindas, Kim Deal, Steve Wynn, Jessica Bordreaux, and Lebisu Grand plus music from new albums from Los Campesinos!, Cigarettes After Sex, Cassandra Jenkins and Deer Tick. There are some collaborations too: one from Orville Peck and Beck, and another from Sampha and Little Simz.
There are a few older tracks too, not least some classic songs featured in this week’s Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz but also as part of the Sunday Cover Supplement, in which MF Tomlinson covers a song originally by Big Thief. All that and more, including the usual chat and of course some biscuits
Tune in on Sunday from 9am to midday.

On this week’s Sunday Escape there’s a preview of some of the incredible artists which will be playing in Hong Kong at Clockenflap from 1-3 December. That means music from Pulp, Idles, Yard Act, De La Soul, The Red Stripes and more, plus some chat on what to expect at the festival, and where you'll find the Pop Fugitives over the weekend. Along with that is all the finest of the week’s new music with new singles from Sea Girls, Mo Troper, NewDad, Bonnie “Prince” Billy and a brilliant collaboration between Björk and Rosalia. The list of new album releases gets shorter as December approaches, but there are still new albums from Spector and Guided By Voices to look forward to.
On the regular features there’s a Pet Shop Boys cover from Sleaford Mods, a short-lived Sheffield band sweeps the nation, Paul and Carolyn pick a song or two that means something to them, and there’s a new Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz. Plus of course there will be biscuits, which hopefully this week are before their best before date.
