Then at 1:25 it’s World Wasp Week, running from today until next Monday, organised by Dr Alexey Reshchikov of the Hong Kong Wasps Project. He’s a Russian wasp taxonomist at HKU. Did you know that Hong Kong has about 350 kinds of stinging wasp, but only a couple of dozen are the social picnic-ruiners? Most are solitary, and a huge number, including Alexey’s Darwin wasps, don’t sting people at all. They use a needle-fine egg tube on other insects, not on you. Join him on Facebook live if you can.
