This week: A look at the Emmys, which wrapped in Los Angeles on Monday night, and another handful of new releases you might like... or not! Then at 1:25 it’s Sports and All with Danny Hicks, live from Nagoya, where the 20th Asian Games open tomorrow. Hong Kong is there in force, about 580 athletes in a delegation of more than 800, with basketball’s Ivan Yang and wushu’s Lydia Sham carrying the flag at Saturday’s opening ceremony. It’s Wednesday on The Brew. At 12:10 Tracy Quan joins us live from New York with some proper housing news: The city’s rent freeze is back in the spotlight after a landlord association sued to overturn it just as lease renewals for October are going out, plus a new tax aimed at the city’s pied-à-terre owners. She’ll also be talking about Lucy Sante’s book 'Nineteen Reservoirs', which tells the story of how New York secured its water supply in the early 20th century by flooding entire upstate villages and communities. Both Philippe Dova and Paul Archibald are off globetrotting today, so they’ll be back with you next week with more Frenchness and classical music.
