Every weekday from noon, The Brew is a chat and music show. Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music.
It’s Wednesday on The Brew. Tracy Quan is still having a break in New York, and she’ll be back with you soon. At 12:40 RTL France’s Philippe Dova joins us live from Paris, taking you to the Paris Motor Show. The 91st Mondial de l’Auto opened its doors to the public yesterday at Porte de Versailles, and runs through to Sunday. At 1:25 it’s Classical Music Day with Paul Archibald, live from Bangkok. Today, the film music of George Fenton, who died unexpectedly earlier this month at 76. The scores for Gandhi, Groundhog Day, Dangerous Liaisons and The Blue Planet, and nearly twenty films for Ken Loach. Fantastic film music, and Paul will take us through some of it.

It’s Tuesday on The Brew. At 12:10 biz futurist Morris Miselowski joins us live from Melbourne, to ask whether Apple has over-extended itself. Last Wednesday it launched only the high-end iPhones — Pros this Friday, the foldable later next month — and the ordinary model isn’t due until spring. Then at 12:40 Jarrod Watt is in with this week’s Aussie news and some more great music. Among other things, he'll talk about Albanese’s new Digital Duty of Care laws, letting people opt out of social media algorithms and fine big tech more than a hundred million dollars if they don’t play ball. The White House is already making noises about it, so Canberra and Trump, plus the platforms, look headed for a proper head-on. Finally, after the 1 o’clock news, will be catching up with our friend, the one and only ocean saving Doug Woodring from Ocean Recovery Alliance, for all of his latest. Join Doug on Facebook live if you can.
