Presenter:Phil Whelan
Every weekday from noon, The Brew is a chat and music show. Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music.
It’s Wednesday on The Brew. No Tracy Quan today, as she’s mid-rest and having a few early nights for a couple of weeks. At 12:40 RTL France’s Philippe Dova joins us from Paris. Axelle Red is making her long-awaited comeback, the Belgian singer behind Sensualité and Manhattan-Kaboul, nearly ten years after her last pop album, with a new single already out and a full record due next March. At 1:25 it’s Classical Music Day with Paul Archibald, live from Bangkok. Nobel week, so today is music and the prize. Einstein played the violin every day of his life, Tagore wrote more than two thousand songs, and Albert Schweitzer’s Bach recordings helped pay for his medical training and the hospital in Africa. Paul will take us through a few of those connections.
