Presenter:Phil Whelan
Every weekday from noon, The Brew is a chat and music show. Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music.
It’s Wednesday on The Brew. Tracy Quan is still away, but she’ll be back soon and better than ever. At 12:40 RTL France’s Philippe Dova joins us live from Singapore. Today we’re talking legends. Just before he left Paris he caught the Michel Berger and France Gall tribute show at the magnificent Folies Bergère. The show premiered in 2019 on the French Riviera in front of two thousand people, and every performance across France since has been a triumph. At 1:25 it’s Classical Music Day with Paul Archibald, live from Bangkok. With Remembrance Day coming up on the 11th, some wonderful music connected with remembrance. That includes a movement from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man, a Mass for Peace written for the Millennium and dedicated to the victims of Kosovo. Huge, moving, and one of the most performed choral works of recent years.
