    Youth development and opportunities

Join Brian Wong this week as he discusses youth on the mainland.

China's youth unemployment rate has been declining with December figures showing a drop to 16.5 percent for those aged 16 to 24, down from 16.9 percent in November. Despite this, competition remains fierce, especially with around 12 million university students graduating each year.

To discuss this issue, Brian Wong is joined by Professor Li Cheng, Director of the Centre in Contemporary China and the World at the University of Hong Kong, and Mallie Prytherch, a researcher at the same centre.

    Weekly Roundup / Industrial tourism

    Presenters:CM Chan and Chloe Feng

This week, we explore the growth of industrial tourism on the mainland. With the thriving mainland tourism industry, more people are travelling during the Dragon Boat Festival as well as the Golden Week holidays. And businesses are capitalizing on this demand by offering more “industrial tours", giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at operational factories, historic industrial sites, and the stories behind production, heritage, and regional impact. What’s fueling this trend? And how will it shape the future of the mainland’s tourism?Tune in to Trending China this Saturday at 8:30am on Radio 3, where CM Chan and Chloe Feng will be joined by tourism expert Yereth Jansen for an in-depth discussion.
