The rise in popularity of women stand-up comedy

主持人：CM Chan and Chloe Feng

This week, we're going to explore the standup comedy scene on the mainland. Like in many other countries, it has mainly been a male-dominated space. But the year of 2025 has been a breakout year for women stand-up comedians, who are making waves in the country by addressing a whole range of women’s issues in their comedy sets.

So what has been driving the rise of female standup comedy on the mainland? And what kind of challenges have female comedians been facing?

CM Chan and Chloe Feng discusses this with mainland comedians Kate Hu, and Bing Zhu.
