    Parent-run love apps

This week, Chloe Feng and Brian Wong explore matchmaking apps on the Chinese mainland that target  parents who refuse to leave things to chance, and are taking proactive steps to arrange romantic dates for their sons and daughters. But do these tactics work when young adults prioritize emotional connection over parental pressure? Bella Pei Wang, assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong’s School of Chinese will join the conversation.

    OpenClaw and Two Sessions

    主持人:Chloe Feng and Brian Wong

Many people on the mainland are talking about raising lobsters right now - but we're not talking about food.

Meet OpenClaw: the open-source Al tool that lets you build autonomous agents capable of sending timed emails or scheduling meetings, all without human intervention.

Created by an Austrian developer, it has sparked a wave of "homemade" versions from Chinese tech giants just as the country's leaders gathered for the annual Two Sessions policy meetings, or Lianghui. This year, officials raised 226 motions and 5,865 proposals, addressing a wide range of topics from children's education to labor rights and divorce issues. So, just how will the new targets impact the country? And as the Lobster or OpenClaw phenomenon emerged during this crucial time, how will it influence the country’s tech industry?

Chloe Feng and Brian Wong will explore these questions with Le Xia, Chief economist for Asia at BBVA Research.
