This week, Chloe Feng and Brian Wong explores Al governance on the Chinese mainland. A court in Hangzhou recently ruled that a tech firm illegally fired an employee after his job was automated by Al. The Hangzhou court said companies cannot unilaterally lay off workers or cut salaries simply due to technological progress. This comes as China pushes hard on Al while also prioritizing labour market stability. Michael Zeng, a professor at City University's Department of Public and International Affairs, shares his views on the programme.
