Jonathan Fournel has had a phenomenal career to date, crowned with awards, including four prizes at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2021. Here, he gives an overview of his repertoire, affirming his close connection with Brahms with the infinitesimal nuances of the autumn landscapes of the Intermezzi; Liszt's Sonata in b minor, a drama of all possibilities; and Bach's Italian Concerto BWV 971. He also plays Szymanowski’s Variations on a Polish Folk Theme, Op. 10 that draws its theme from the tune On the Music of Podhale.
