    The food ingredient featured in this episode is “carrot” which looks common on the surface and often serves only as a side dish. Chef Will has to deal with the celebrity Bernard CHAN who is “very demanding” on diet. What dish featuring “carrot” will he cook? Bernard has been suffering from a rare disease since he was young. As a result, he has to exercise strict dietary control, eating food with “three lows” – low in salt, sugar and fat. With an extremely light eating habit, what tricks does Bernard have in order to enjoy delicious food while maintaining physical fitness? Besides, the “Food Fanatic” pay a special visit to the Kadoorie Farm to learn about the planting of local carrots.

      Ginger is rich in Vitamins A, B and E, and contains gingerols which is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. From the perspective of Chinese medicine, ginger can help to expel cold and dampness, reduce water retention, as well as relieve stomach discomfort; and its effects are particularly remarkable for women. But is it suitable for women to consume ginger during pregnancy? This episode of “Eat Well Live Well” features ginger, and the two “Food Fanatic” learn about the ginger growing process at the farm first. As winter has come and it’s time for ginger harvest, the “Food Fanatic” also learn the tips for selecting ginger.
      Chef Andy Dark uses ginger to make a dish “Napa Cabbage Pork Rolls with Julienned Ginger”, and Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner Sofia PANG is invited to taste the food together. Sofia shares the points to note when consuming ginger, saying that ginger has the effect of relieving morning sickness for pregnant women and is a boon to them, but over-consumption is not recommended.

      Hong Kong people love seafood, and fish is a staple in both banquets and home-cooked meals. The cooking methods for fish are diverse, ranging from pan-frying, sautéing, and poaching to, deep-frying, steaming, and even eating it raw. In addition to fish being a source of high-quality protein in fish, the Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil are anti-inflammatory and help maintain heart health, as well as support children’s brain and eye development. In search of healthier local food ingredients, the “Food Fanatics” visit a modern aquaculture farm in Yung Shue Au. They discover why the founder, Alex, adds Chinese medicine and probiotics to the feed and observe how the humane "Ike Jime" dispatch method is used. The chef host Andy has designed a unique dish, “Mediterranean-style Pan-seared Sea Bass”, teaching us the tips for handling fish bones, as well as the secret of sautéing crispy and tender fish fillets. Singer Deep NG also joins us to share how he encourages his child to be a non-picky eater and how he maintains his voice through diet. Finally, LEE Ka-yan David, Specialist in Paediatrics, learns from Andy how to use a common food ingredient to remove fishy odors.

This time, Chef Will will make a dish “ Honeyed Chicken Wing Dumplings with Honey-Roasted Sweet Potatoes”; and Specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Dr Rose TING, and artiste Deon CHEUNG are invited to share their thoughts while enjoying the delicious food. In this episode of “Eat Well Live Well”, we will unveil the truth about mushrooms! The two “Food Fanatic” visit the organic mushroom farm of Hong Kong. This special mushroom farm was converted from recycled containers, thus allowing for effective control of temperature and humidity. The farm produces some species which are less common in Hong Kong, and the “Food Fanatic” also learn how to pick mushrooms.

      The chef host Andy is good at Western cooking. This time, he will make a Hungarian assorted mushroom soup with different types of mushrooms, and share it with Rheumatologist Dr Carrel YU. Dr YU will explain while eating the causes of gout, the relationship between gout and purine, as well as debunk the myths about purine content in mushrooms amongst the public.

      When talking about nourishing foods for the winter, lamb is often the first thing that comes to mind. Mutton is rich in protein and iron, making it highly beneficial for enriching the blood. However, as for the unique and strong “gamey smell” of mutton, some people love it while others find it off-putting. While we usually choose imported or Mainland mutton, black lambs are also bred in Hong Kong. In this episode, the “Food Fanatics” visit a farm where hundreds of black lambs are raised to explore their properties and habits. The chef host Mabel also creates a specially designed dish, “Crown Roast of Lamb with Lemon and Fermented Tofu, teaching us how to remove the gamey odor while preserving the tenderness of mutton. We also invited the news presenter Ruby LAM to share her tips for staying in shape; and the registered Chinese medicine practitioner CHO Shun-yan to explain the properties of lamb, including who should eat it and how to enjoy it in a nourishing way without causing "internal heat”.

In this episode, Chef Will will prepare a fusion soup in Western-style to put a new spin on the dish; and Dr CHAN Hau-ngai, Specialist in Dermatology, and artiste Snow SUEN are invited to enjoy the delicacy together. Dr CHAN will also answer questions and explain why tomatoes are beneficial to our skin. Even Snow has become a mother of two, she still looks glamorous. She will share with audience her tips about diet and skincare.
