1. Clear as mud

形容說話或文字表達得一塌糊塗，用來諷刺某人的解釋混亂難明，或幽默回應複雜的指示。 

 

"His explanation was as clear as mud."

他我解釋非常不清晰。

 

2. Salt of the earth

形容一個人樸實可靠。 

 

“She do volunteer work every weekend，she is truly the salt of the earth."

她每週也做義工，真是樸實善良的人。

 

3. On the face of the earth

表示世界上。有強調的語氣。 

 

“There's no one like her on the face of the earth."

這世上沒有像她這樣的人。

 

4. To break new ground

開創先河的意思。 

 

"This research breaks new ground in cancer treatment."

這項研究在癌症治療上開創先河。

 

5. To hold your ground

形容一個人堅守立場，不退讓。

 

"Despite pressure, she held her ground and refused to compromise."

儘管受盡壓力，他仍堅持自己的立場絕不妥協。
