On Monday's programme, we looked at the recent deep cuts announced by the United Nations. The world body has appealed for a 2026 aid budget only half the size of what it had hoped for this year, acknowledging a plunge in donor funding at a time when humanitarian needs have never been greater.
After the break, we looked at the government's latest move to support AI development. The Education Bureau recently launched the "Empowering Learning and Teaching Funding Programme", aimed at supporting schools in using AI to enhance teaching and learning. Schools that take part can receive a one-off grant of HK$ 500,000.
