Civil service recruitment / HK moves up in global university rankings

    主持人:Brian Wong and Philip Wong

On Friday's Backchat, we took a closer look at why the civil service has been attractive for fresh graduates. This came as the government revealed that its civil service graduate posts received more than 20,000 applicants for a third consecutive year.

The administration has been organising multiple drives in recent years to promote government posts among fresh graduates through promotional activities -- not only in Hong Kong but also on the mainland and overseas. We discussed the recruitment strategy and whether these youngsters will likely stay in the public sector for the long term.

After the news, we talked about the rankings of Hong Kong universities, as six of these institutions made it to the top 200 in a Times Higher Education Ranking.

    9:05am-9:30am: Civil service recruitment

    Speakers:
Roy Ying, Co-Chair of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management's Advocacy and Policy Research Committee

John Mullally, Managing Director at Robert Walters Hong Kong
