On Wednesday's Backchat, we continued to discuss the aftermath of last week's deadly Tai Po blaze. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - or SPCA - said at least 63 pets were killed in the Wang Fuk Court fire. More than 200 animals have been rescued. We spoke to the deputy director of the animal welfare agency for the latest developments.
We then spoke to an expert about scammers who prey on grieving Hongkongers under the guise of donations and relief efforts. Authorities have called on members of the public to be on guard against phishing text messages and websites.
After the break, we looked into a cutting edge type of renewable energy which China recently made a breakthrough in. It recently deployed the world's largest power-generating kite.
And we also learn more from new developments on nuclear medicine - another potential game changer for treating cancer. The University of Hong Kong has been heavily involved in its research, and may support local production of the medicine.
