Munira Rahman - China’s unexpected fascination / Kate Kortum - Jazz / Raphael Blet - The Bright Side

On Tuesday, May 26th, just after 10:30 a.m., we’ll be discussing China’s unexpected fascination with Bollywood—how films like Dangal, 3 Idiots, and Secret Superstar became cultural sensations, sparking devoted cross-border fan bases. Joining us in the studio is Bollywood enthusiast Munira Rahman, who taught herself fluent Hindi through movies and is now writing a book about the films that shaped her life.
Then at 11:00, jazz glamour arrives in Hong Kong as singer Kate Kortum performs live with us. Fresh off shows at Birdland, Blue Note, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, Kate is in town with her quartet for two intimate concerts at the Tea House Theatre in the Xiqu Centre.
And after 11:45, The Bright Side returns with Radio 3’s own Raphael Blet, bringing uplifting stories, positive energy, and moments of beauty from across the city.

On Brunch on Tuesday 21st April we’re moving through the things that shape how we feel from the way we care for our bodies to the spaces we pass through and the quiet details that sit underneath everyday life.

After 10 we have another segment in our engaging series on learning Cantonese with Rachel Liu and Tanya Chou bringing a little extra spark to our linguistic abilities.
Then we turn to something more intimate - Perimenopause is something many women experience but it is not often spoken about in full light and bone health is one of those areas that quietly sits in the background until it suddenly matters. We will be talking about staying strong over time and why it’s important. Joining us from
10.30am is physiotherapist Hazel Walpole a familiar voice to our listeners, known for her calm precise and very human approach to strength mobility and long term wellbeing. Hazel will be helping us understand what is actually shifting in the body and how small intentional changes can make a real difference in everyday life.
And with Earth Day coming up this week on the 22nd of April we are also looking at the world around us and the way it holds us. Stephanie Lau from Earthasia joins us after 11am to talk about how design can change the atmosphere of a space entirely - turning public environments into something more alive and creating places that invite pause and connection and those fleeting moments that stay with you longer than you expect.
And after 11.30 Raphael Blet brings us The Bright Side a feel good round up of uplifting stories from around the world to carry you gently through the rest of the morning.
