Coming up on Brunch on Monday 20th July with Shazia Awan-Scully, after 10.30am, we’ll be looking back at the biggest moments from the latest World Cup action - with everything you need to know from the final - Spain vs Argentina. Radio 3 sports correspondent Carlos Escueta joins Shazia in the studio to chat about all the highlights.

Then after the news at 11am, we’ll be exploring the idea of giving children both confidence and independence, inspired by the old Chinese proverb: “All that parents can give their children are roots and wings.” Sharing her thoughts will be mum of two and brunch regular, photographer Samantha Fong.

After 11.30am, it’s time for our regular feature, The Bright Side, where we take a look at heartwarming and inspiring stories from around the World, Radio 3’s own Raphael Blet joins Shazia in the studio.
