    Russell Storer - Senior curator and head of curatorial affairs at M+ / Matt Yau - AIA carnival organiser /Thai artist - Pinaree Sanpitak

    This week, we check out the M+ exhibition "Dream Rooms: Environments by Women Artists 1950s-Now" that features 12 interactive installations, including three new works by Asian artists and nine reconstructed environments.     This week, we hear about Hong Kong Dance Company’s upcoming performance that’s based on a famous local comic legend - Storm Riders. We take a deep dive into this year’s Fringe Festival and speak to a father-and-daughter jazz organ group to talk about music, and also get advice on how to  encourage children to learn a new instrument. Plus, we look ahead to a special concert to celebrate the legacy of American-British violinist Yehudi Menuhin who is s considered one of the greatest of the 20th century.

    Lets start with the latest production of the Hong Kong Dance Company, and that’s “Storm Clouds: An Epic Martial Arts Dance Drama”, which is based on local comic legend Storm Riders or Fung Wan in Chinese, that resonates deeply with the collective memories of many Hong Kong people. Danny Gittings and Tony Sabine spoke to Meggy Cheng, the executive director of Hong Hong Dance Company. She first explained what the production is about:

    CultureZine’s Halim has been exploring the Fringe Festival that’s taking place this month and she spoke to the father and daughter jazz organ group - B3 Johnson and Sylvia. She first asked Johnson Ho - the dad, what B3 means:

    11/01/2025 - James Cuddeford - Lead violinist of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta

    James Cuddeford is the concertmaster, or lead violinist, of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, and at the age of 11, he had the chance to play solo to violin master Yehudi Menuhin in Australia, and later became his student. Now to celebrate the legacy of Menuhin , a special concert will take place. James spoke to Ben Che:

    We now look at the Harbourside Swing Fest. Apart from workshops there will also be performances and parties. Swing dancer teachers Aurore Alauze and Thomas Latter first told Halim what swing dance is:
