Every weekday from noon, The Brew is a chat and music show. Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music.
It’s Thursday already, which can only mean one thing. At 12:10 it’s Brewed in HK with John Prymmer, coming to you from Cleveland, USA, with more brand new and slightly used music from Hong Kong’s top musical talent. At 1:25 Chef Jason Black is back, live from South Africa, for a chat about the food of New Orleans. He lived and worked there for some years, so expect 'the word' on this rich, spicy, full of flavour cuisine from and one of the great eating cities of the world.

It’s Thursday on The Brew, which means it’s Brewed in HK time. Mark Rawson is in today with another selection of original music from Hong Kong’s talented bands and artists. Last week we asked you to send in any tracks you think will do the job, and you did, so today, meet folk duo The Beekeepers. Chef Jason Black is having a rest for a couple of weeks, so at 1:25 we’ll find out all about one of the craziest musical instruments out there, the theremin. Yesterday Phil went to Tsuen Wan Town Hall to meet one of the world’s great theremin players, Miles Brown, the virtuoso who studied with Lydia Kavina, a relative of the instrument’s inventor. All the way from Melbourne, Miles is here to perform with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and a whole cast of talented actors and dancers in Space Fantasy, an outer-space family spectacular mixing live orchestra, theremin, circus and digital art, happening this weekend. Check out our Facebook page for a little video taster of Miles in action.
