Although mushroom hunting isn't a new concept, the recent surge in interest for rare varieties in Yunnan province has pushed foraging to a new level. Many young people are signing up for these tours to seek out unique experiences during their summer vacations. Dubbed the "Kingdom of Wild Mushrooms," this southwestern region is home to around 900 mushroom species and contributes significantly to the global supply of edible fungi. Many Michelin-starred restaurants in Hong Kong feature mushrooms sourced from Yunnan.
