Chinese mainland's strengthening partnership with ASEAN

This week, we’ll explore the strengthening partnership between China and neighbouring countries, particularly members of ASEAN—the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
China has been the bloc’s largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, while ASEAN has been China’s top trading partner for the past five years. And about two months ago in November, the two sides upgraded the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area to a “3.0 version”, signalling a push to future-proof Asia’s trade flows. What's the history behind this relationship? What opportunities are on the horizon?

Weekly Roundup / Surge in popularity of Yunnan mushroom foraging tours

    Presenters:CM Chan and Chloe Feng

This week, we're exploring the rising trend of mushroom foraging tours in Yunnan. Although mushroom hunting isn't a new concept, the recent surge in interest for rare varieties in Yunnan province has pushed foraging to a new level. Many young people are signing up for these tours to seek out unique experiences during their summer vacations. Dubbed the "Kingdom of Wild Mushrooms," this southwestern region is home to around 900 mushroom species and contributes significantly to the global supply of edible fungi. Many Michelin-starred restaurants in Hong Kong feature mushrooms sourced from Yunnan.
How did this mushroom-collecting craze emerge on the mainland? What makes Yunnan the ideal location for fungi growth? And how can we engage in these tours while preserving the environment? CM Chan and Chloe Feng will discuss this as they explore the latest mushroom frenzy.
