    "Becoming Chinese" trend

    主持人:Chloe Feng and Brian Wong

This week, we explore an intriguing trend known as "Becoming Chinese" that has recently emerged, particularly among overseas audiences.
This movement was unintentionally sparked by a TikTok influencer and focuses on adopting Chinese lifestyle habits. In one of the engaging clips, the influencer humorously suggests, "If you love hotpot, dim sum, Sichuan cuisine, and Biangbiang noodles, then you are Chinese, and your body is simply craving those wontons."
In summary, the country highlights that it has “Eight Great Traditions”, featuring eight different sorts of regional foods. But if you travel into the countryside, there’s so much more to discover, including street foods, like Jianbing Guozi, which originated from Tianjin. To find out more, Chloe Feng and Brian Wong speaks with Kent Wong, also known as “Uncle K”, a food blogger based in Hong Kong.
