A low-budget film, Niu Lai, or Arrival of the Ox, became an unexpected summer hit - drawing crowds for all the wrong reasons, as viewers wanted to see just how bad it was. After a slow start, memes and clips helped it surge in popularity.
Other than Niu Lai, the Eight Immortals animation was also one of the most watched films during the summer holidays on the Chinese mainland. Chloe and Brian chat with film critic Elizabeth Kerr about the animations.

So how will the attention economy continue to develop on the Chinese mainland? And how can businesses better prepare for it?
Chloe and Brian discusses this with Professor Roy Ying, Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Hang Seng University.
