Cyclothon
The annual Cyclothon is coming on 11th October! This year, more than 6,000 cyclists will cycle along roads that don’t usually allow bicycles. One of the non-competitive categories has been extended to 56 kilometres. The new “Five Tunnels, Three Bridges” route will take cyclists along the Central Kowloon Bypass to Kai Tak for the first time, and the usual three bridges - Tsing Ma, Stonecutters and Ting Kau, as well as the four tunnels - Cheung Ching, Nam Wan, Eagle’s Nest and Sha Tin Heights. As for professional competitions, around 100 world-class cyclists will race in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Class 1.1 Road Race in Hong Kong for the first time in three years. The 100 kilometers route brings together 17 top teams from 11 countries and regions.
Apart from cheering on the riders, you can go to the public viewing zone in the West-K and watch the cyclists in action on a huge screen. There will also be a cycling-themed carnival at the Great Lawn of the Art Park. There will be stage performances, a sports gear showcase, food, opportunities to try out emerging sports, games, DIY workshops, photo spots and more. Admission is free.
