Hong Kong Stories: Tails of the City (English Version)
Hong Kong Stories: Tails of the City (English Version)
A fabulous twenty year career in wedding photography—yet photographer CM Leung says it was undone by a single regret. He had once captured countless radiant moments of life: the tears of bride and groom, the smiles of family and friends, the eternity of love and promise. His work earned him many international and local wedding photography awards. But five years ago, when his two beloved dogs passed away one after another, he realized that among the millions of shutter clicks, there were no images of simply being with them. The “missed moments” opened a wound in his heart that could not heal, and at the same time ignited the most important turning point of his life: he resolved to bear witness to every “moments not to be missed”. CM Leung decided to step into corners forgotten by time, offering free family photo sessions for pets who are gravely ill and old, approaching the “Rainbow Bridge.” His lens especially lingers on local mongrel dogs—lives that wander quietly on the margins of the city. Though no one could stop the passing of time, through images traces of every journey of love can be preserved. This film records the photographer’s own process of healing, showing through his lens that local mongrels too can be seen, remembered, and cherished, bringing warmth to the families. They may seem ordinary, yet they change our understanding of love, life, death, and companionship. With his camera, he seeks to send blessings, respect, and gratitude to them before they cross the Rainbow Bridge.

On this programme, we started with the latest developments on the war in the Middle East. Iran says it has control of the The Strait of Hormuz, a key passageway for a fifth of the world's oil, whilst US President Donald Trump has lashed out at a number of allies for rejecting his call to send ships to help keep the Strait open. The US leader also said he needs to postpone his visit to China so he can get a handle on his war, which has escalated to engulf the entire region. After the break, we talked to New People's Party Chairwoman Regina Ip about her upcoming panel and fan meet at ComplexCon Hong Kong. The event will see a blend of street culture, sneakers, music, and art as one dynamic experience, as well as high-profile performances from the likes of Jennie from Blackpink. And we ended the show hearing from the lead researcher from Polytechnic University who was part of developing a new brain-computer interface for Parkinson's disease patients. 9:05am-9:30am: Iran war updates Speakers: Josef Gregory Mahoney, Professor of Politics and International Relations, East China Normal University Warwick Powell, Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology 9:32am-9:45am: ComplexCon Hong Kong 2026  Speaker: Regina Ip, Chairwoman of the New People's Party 9:45am-10:00am: Brain-computer interface system for Parkinson’s disease Speaker: Sun Lei, Director of the Research Centre for Non-invasive Brain Computer Interface, and Professor at Department of Biomedical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
