Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music. For 19 years, Phil has presented 'Morning Brew', but now that we've moved to the lunchtime spot, all we need to change is the name. We have the same MB crew coming to you on the same days, and we're open for business... as usual.

Welcome to your midweek Brew. Author, poet, writer to the stars, and of course… our New York correspondent, Tracy Quan, will be back with us this week At 12:10. RTL France's Philippe Dova is getting lost somewhere in the French countryside, so he will return next week. Wednesday is 'classical' music day, and this time our friend Paul Archibald will be coming to you live… from a monastery… in Poland! There's so much world class sport going on right now that today’s theme is about just that. Listen as Paul introduces some music of the great composers that is all about games and tournaments.

Happy Wednesday, and welcome to your midweek Brew. At 12:10 New York correspondent Tracy Quan bring you all her latest. Then, at 12:40, a little trip to Osaka, where we'll catch up with RTL France's man in... Japan (this week), Philippe Dova. At 1:25 we'll pull over in Bangkok, as Wednesday is always... 'classical' music day with Paul Archibald. Today he wants to take you a little 'left field' and introduce you to the famous American composer Charles Ives. In his heyday this guy was a piece of work (tonally), but today we'll have a listen to some of his earlier pieces, which date from the late 1800s. Don't worry, these ones have 'tunes'. Promise!
