Every weekday from noon, The Brew is a chat and music show. Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music.
Welcome to Monday on The Brew. At 12:10, Robbie McRobbie starts the week with all his latest updates from the Kai Tak Sports Park, alongside a roundup of the weekend's sporting action from here and afar. Then at 1:25, our man in HCMC, Neil Runcieman, joins you with a traveler's guide to Vietnam, exploring the lesser known sides of the country, and some of the unusual ways in which people describe things there. You can also catch Neil streaming on Facebook Live.

Today on The Brew, we cross to New York at 12:10 to check in with Tracy Quan for her latest slice of life from the city. RTL France’s Philippe Dova is taking a break today as he's busy on tour in France, but will return next week. And then, at 1:25, Paul Archibald joins us from Bangkok for ‘Classical’ Music Day. Today, he wants to share with you a bit of the high drama of opera. Moving past the usual clichés of people loudly dying of consumption, forbidden love, accidental family marriages, dramatic stabbings, or drinking mysterious potions, he'll be looking at the characters who actually show incredible inner strength in the face of major adversity—which, let's face it, is pretty much standard for opera.
