Proprietary Chinese medicine / Nigerian community outreach / Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra programme

    主持人:Azam Khan and Mike Rowse

On Tuesday's Backchat, we looked into the latest trends, opportunities and challenges faced by the local proprietary Chinese medicine industry, following the unveiling of a research report by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Recent developments on the mainland have created opportunities for Hong Kong companies.
After the break, we heard about the 'Igbo Youth Cultural Awareness Programme', that was recently held at Science Park. We learned how the event helped promote understanding of the Nigerian culture in the city.
And we wrapped up the show by speaking to the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, which recently announced its upcoming programme highlights.

    9:05am-9:30am: Proprietary Chinese medicine

    Speakers:

Prof Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President of Clinical Chinese Medicine at Hong Kong Baptist University

Wing Chu, Principal Economist (Greater China), Hong Kong Trade Development Council

    9:32am-9:46am: Nigerian community outreach

    Speaker:

Rany Onuselogu, community leader and organiser of the Igbo Cultural Awareness Programme

    Clarification:
During this episode of Backchat, it was stated that "5 million Igbo people reside in Nigeria." The speaker would like to clarify that 50 million Igbo people live in Southern Nigeria, not 5 million. RTHK has not independently verified these figures.

    Speaker:

Dr Celia Chin, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra
