Janice Wong is on holiday for two weeks, so your CultureZine host will be Radio 1's Halim. In this episode she finds out about the beauty of... concrete, via the genius of Chinese-American architect I.M.Pei. Also, did you know that for the past few years, M+ has been collecting a lot of the actual neon signs (some, truly iconic) that used to adorn buildings in Hong Kong's streets? Us neither. Halim went to see this awesome collection, and met its curator. This week's CultureZine has a musical flavour too, with professional pianist Carol Yu, who gives some advice for young performers. And, we get a chance to meet the brilliant 24 year old Finnish conductor, Tarmo Peltokoski, who will take over the musical reigns of the Hong Kong Phil in September, as its new Music Director.
