Located in the heart of the city’s business district, Hong Kong Park blends modern design with historic buildings and natural landscape. In 2016, Annemarie Evans took a walk in the park with one of its designers, Gavin Coates. During their tour, Coates explained the reasoning behind the Park’s spectacular waterfall there, how non-native plant helped restore native species, and why the use of real rocks in landscape design was probably a bad idea.
