Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9 and 1.
Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.
On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.

On this week’s Sunday Escape there’s an air of excitement and suspense as to whether Paul has made it back to Hong Kong in time to appear on the show. Whatever happens, Carolyn will be there and there’ll be music from new albums from Camera Obscura, Ibibio Sound Machine and The Lemon Twigs along wth new songs from Faux Real, Kamasi Washington, Arab Strap, and Rose Hotel. There also a collaboration between Orlando Weeks and Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale plus the week’s regular features include a track from Newcastle lo-fi punks Milky Wimpshake and a Cranberries cover from Passion Pit.
On top of all that there’s a brand new Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz, all the usual chat, and of course biscuits.

It’s an Easter Sunday Escape this week, meaning that as well as playing the best in new and independent music Paul and Carolyn will be trying to find some Easter songs to go with the new tracks from Marina Allen, Frank Turner, Eels, Fat White Family, Rose Hotel, John Cale, and Mary In The Junkyard. There’s also a collaboration between Blondshell and Bully, and although it’s a quieter week for new albums this week there'll be music from LPs by Chastity Belt and Ride. There’ll also be plenty of older tracks too.
With the Hong Kong Sevens just around the corner, you can hear Paul and Carolyn’s interview with grammy award nominated musician Aston Barrett Jr of The Wailers, talking about the band’s forthcoming shows at the Sevens and Hong Kong Observation Wheel as well as Aston’s appearance in the movie Bob Marley: One Love.
On top of all that the usual features return, with a Karen O cover of a Smashing Pumpkins song as part of the Sunday Cover Supplement, a rather tragic Sweeping The Nation, another Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz and naturally some Easter biscuits.
